Jewellery Making Workshop
THIS WORKSHOP IS SUITABLE FOR INEXPERIENCED AND COMPETENT JEWELLERY MAKERS ALIKE. IT IS POPULAR WITH NEWLY QUALIFIED STUDENTS WANTING TO GAIN EXTRA CONFIDENCE IN JEWELLERY MAKING.
YOU WILL HAVE THE UNDIVIDED ATTENTION OF THE TUTOR FOR THE WHOLE DAY.
SUFFICIENT SILVER IS PROVIDED TO MAKE SEVERAL PIECES OF JEWELLERY DESIGNED BY YOU. THEY WILL THEN BE SENT TO BIRMINGHAM FOR HALLMARKING.
LUNCH AND REFRESHMENTS ARE PROVIDED.
HEALTH AND SAFETY IS IMPORTANT, PLEASE WEAR CLOSED IN SHOES, OLD CLOTHES AND TIE HAIR BACK.
The Jewellery Making Workshop starts between 9.30 and 10.00am, depending on your choice ,and includes 6 hours of tuition.
The morning starts with refreshments, a discussion of what you hope to get out of the day , acclimatisation to the premises and equipment as well as Health and Safety issues.
We then start working in silver to cut, texture, stamp, hammer and mill the metal. We will use these pieces to make your jewellery.
Lunch is a light meal, if the weather is good enough we will sit in the garden.
After lunch we start to assemble the fabricated pieces into jewellery.
We then polish and finish the silver.
Your items will then be sent to Birmingham for hallmarking and be sent to you when they are returned.
